My childhood elicits magical memories.

Summer 1984 - Re-enacting scenes from Return of the Jedi, pickling season, block parties, the record player console carried down the street from our house to the neighbour's deck, dads drinking beer, and most vividly, the pig roasts.  It felt amazing to be young and part of a gathering that shared a meal which took time, care, consideration, and a community to prepare.

Winter 2013 - I had been a vegetarian for over 15 years but loved to cook and especially barbecue meat and poultry for my family and friends.  Cut to a late night walk home just before New Year's with a good friend of mine who is a chef.  He said "You love making this food and you put so much effort into it but you don't get to taste it and enjoy it. Makes no sense if you are serious about what you are doing".  We roasted a chicken for dinner the next night and that was that.

Crown and Anchor was born out of a love for hearty and delicious food prepared with the same care, consideration, and community spirit of my childhood.  The aim is to not only turn out tasty traditional hand cranked sausages but to also promote, collaborate and team up with other food companies and restaurants that share our philosophy.  Everyone should have access to awesome food, and if you are looking for something we can't offer (ask us, we are open to suggestions) maybe we can point you in the right direction.  We have awesome friends who make all kinds of awesome food.  And if you are looking to team up on a pop-up or collaborate on something food related, don't hesitate to give us a shout.
